Hearing Aid Fund

The Hearing Aid Fund supports hard of hearing New Zealanders who are facing financial hardship to purchase new hearing aids. Applications can be made by individuals to apply for a grant, to the total of $500.00, to purchase new hearing aids.

Hearing Aid Fund Criteria:

Before you apply, please ensure:

  • You are over 18 years of age.
  • You are able to provide proof of NZ Citizenship OR NZ Residency (eg. Copy of passport, NZ Residency visa or Returning Resident visa and show you have lived in NZ for 3 years or longer).
  • You have a hearing loss that requires hearing aids.
  • Audiogram and letter from audiologist recommending hearing aids is required to be uploaded
  • You have a quote for hearing aids from audiologist

Conditions:

  • A grant of $500.00 from the NFDHH Hearing Aid Fund can be used to purchase new hearing aids from any audiology clinic in New Zealand.
  • If your application is successful, you will need to provide a quote from your audiology clinic and NFDHH will pay the grant funds directly to the to the clinic on your behalf.
  • Based on the above criteria, decisions to approve applications are made by the National Foundation for Deaf and Hard of Hearing and are final.
  • Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application, no later than 4 weeks after submitting an application.
