The Hearing Accredited Workplace Programme (HAWP) supports organisations in building awareness, improving accessibility, and creating environments where Deaf and hard of hearing employees, clients, and visitors can fully participate.
Through a simple accreditation process, your organisation joins a growing network of workplaces across Aotearoa that are actively strengthening communication and accessibility.

Within 12 months your organisation will participate in two 30-minute online awareness workshops & complete a workplace hearing screening session. Once completed, you will receive official HAWP accreditation.

HAWP workshops help teams understand hearing loss and communication barriers, learn basic New Zealand Sign Language, improve everyday communication, and build confidence supporting Deaf and hard of hearing colleagues.
Across Aotearoa, organisations are recognising that accessibility strengthens teams, improves communication, and reflects inclusive leadership.
By becoming a Hearing Accredited Workplace, your organisation demonstrates a commitment to environments where people feel informed, respected, and supported.
